About the author

Ryan Grassley

Ryan is a storyteller, adventurer, and full-time friend to Sam. Together, they travel the world in search of fun, laughter, and unforgettable experiences—many of which inspire the Sam & Ryan book series. Sam has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, but that has never stopped him from exploring the outdoors, meeting new people, and chasing big dreams. Ryan works as Sam’s assistant, helping him enjoy life to the fullest—whether that means going to school, visiting national parks, or heading somewhere entirely unexpected.

The Sam & Ryan books are based on real adventures and a real friendship. Through their stories, Ryan hopes to show children that everyone belongs, everyone is capable, and adventures are better when shared.
