New accessibility initiative expands outdoor access and trail experiences for visitors with mobility challenges

BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Utah — February 10, 2026 — Visitors to Bryce Canyon National Park can now access off-road wheelchairs from Extreme Motus, expanding mobility options for people with disabilities and increasing access to select trails and viewpoints throughout the park.

All-Terrain Wheelchairs in Bryce Canyon National Park

The all-terrain wheelchairs are designed to navigate dirt, gravel, and uneven surfaces commonly found in outdoor environments. Their availability supports Bryce Canyon National Park’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and ensure that visitors of all abilities can experience the park’s natural features.

“The most beautiful places in our country don’t have sidewalks. They are located at the end of trails in State and National Parks. With the right piece of adaptive equipment, people with mobility challenges can experience these places together with their families,” said Kenny Jardine, Chief of Business Development Officer at Extreme Motus.

The wheelchairs feature a lightweight aluminum frame, oversized low-pressure tires, and a stable design intended for use in rugged terrain. They are designed to be operated with assistance and to accommodate a range of users.

The wheelchairs are available to visitors through designated park access points. Visitors can inquire at Bryce Canyon National Park visitor services for availability, usage guidelines, and additional accessibility resources.

The initiative reflects a collaborative effort to reduce barriers to outdoor recreation and expand access to public lands for individuals with mobility challenges.
