Welcome to the family! By choosing Extreme Motus, you’ve officially traded “I can’t go there” for “When do we leave?” Whether it’s sandy beaches, snowy trails, or rocky mountain paths, your new chair is built to turn the “impossible” into your weekend plans.
Before you head out to conquer the wild, here’s a quick, breezy guide to getting the most out of your ride.
1. The Quick Launch (Fold, Unfold, & Go)
Setting your Extreme Motus up is as simple as a few clicks.
- The Unfold: Hold a brake lever, lean the chair back, and swing that front wheel into action.
- Pick Your Vibe: Use the pins to toggle between Upright (legs straight, forward focus) or Reclined (chilled out, leaning back).
- Safety Check: Always ensure those pins are fully seated before the rubber hits the dirt!
2. Loading Up Like a Pro
Safety first, adventure second.
- Lock It Down: Before anyone hops in, pull the brake lever and press the lock pin.
- The Transfer: Whether it’s a solo lift or a team effort, communication is key. Use the method that feels most stable for the rider.
- Buckle Up: This isn’t a suggestion—it’s the rule. Our 5-point harness keeps the rider snug and secure, even when the trail gets spicy.

3. Master the Terrain
Driving an Extreme Motus all-terrain chair is a bit different than your standard wheels.
- The “Wheelie” Turn: Since the front wheel is fixed for stability, you’ll want to slightly lift it (pop a mini-wheelie) to pivot and change direction.
- Braking is Your Best Friend: Don’t try to “muscle” the chair down a hill. Keep two fingers on the brake levers at all times to control your descent.
- Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: On steep inclines, go side-by-side or use the front pull strap. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
4. Special Missions: Water & Air
- Taking the Plunge: The Extreme Motus can float, but it’s top-heavy. In deep water, wear a life jacket and ditch the seatbelt so the rider can exit quickly if needed. Always keep a firm grip!
- Sky-High Adventures: Flying? Just check the chair like luggage. Pro Tip: Lower the tire pressure before the flight to protect the wheels, and bring a small pump for when you land.
5. Post-Trail TLC
After the mud has settled:
- Rinse it off: Especially if you’ve been playing in salt water.
- Check the Gear: Give the straps and brakes a quick once-over.
- The Motus Mover: If you have our hitch carrier, remember to use the front wheel pins to lock it into the receiver and tighten that ratchet strap!
