Scott’s Adventures and Mods to the Extreme Motus All Terrain Wheelchair
Recently I was contacted by one of our customers Scott. He was excited to share with me some modifications he has made to his Extreme Motus All Terrain Wheelchair. His ideas are great so I wanted to share them with all of you.
Question: What is your disability?
Answer: I have cerebral palsy.
Question: How long have you had your Motus?
Answer: I got the chair about a year ago, and it has changed my life! I have been a huge hiker all of my life. I couldn’t go where I wanted to go, before I got the chair. Since I got the chair, I have been to Silver Falls, Detroit, and Multnomah Falls, and more!
Question: What modifications have you made to your Motus?
Answer: We made the seat longer, and we put it at an angle back so my hips won’t slip out! We designed it so that it can still fold up. It worked! We found a machine shop, and they made a slanted wedge—they angled it back and up!
Question: What is the silver post with the black end that comes out of the side of your Extreme Motus?
Answer: It holds my communication device. This device allows me to look at different words and phrases and communicate with other people.
Question: What has been your favorite adventure with the Motus?
Answer: That’s a really hard question, but I would say Marys Peak in Corvallis, Oregon!
Question: Why was this adventure so fun or memorable?
Answer: All of them! I can’t pick one. Sorry.
