Quick answer
We partnered with the Utah Mammoth to bring street hockey to Santaquin with Sam as goalie in his Extreme Motus wheelchair. Our team Extremely Slow finished 2nd place, and Sam’s defending was key to our wins.
Recently we learned that Utah’s new hockey team the Utah Mammoth has a great program to promote street hockey in local communities. We worked with them to set up a tournament in Santaquin, Utah and joined in the fun with Sam as our goalie in the Extreme Motus all-terrain wheelchair.
We were so lucky to have a little rain before the tournament started to cool things off. Our team “Extremely Slow” wouldn’t have lasted long in the heat. The street hockey courts were small. The size meant you were always on the attack and it wore me out fast. I talked big about trying to lose every game we played so we wouldn’t have to play 2 more games in finals. But once I was on the court I couldn’t help by play my best to win.
The Extremely Slow team ended up coming in 2nd place in the tounament and a big part of those wins because of our was our amazing goalie Sam.
