Why the Outdoors Matter for Everyone

Nature has been proven to improve mental health, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. For individuals with disabilities, the outdoors can also be a space of empowerment and inclusion. With Extreme Motus all-terrain wheelchairs, barriers like rocky trails, sandy beaches, and uneven paths become navigable, allowing everyone to explore the world on their terms.

Conditions That May Lead to Mobility Challenges

Our all-terrain wheelchairs cater to a wide range of conditions, helping individuals regain their independence and confidence. Here are some disabilities and chronic conditions that might require mobility aids and how our solutions can help:

Neurological Conditions

Neurological conditions can affect movement, coordination, and balance, often making outdoor activities seem impossible. These conditions, which include injuries and diseases impacting the brain, spinal cord, or nerves, can lead to significant physical limitations. With all-terrain wheelchairs, individuals can regain their connection to nature and confidently navigate outdoor spaces.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Musculoskeletal Disorders

Musculoskeletal disorders can lead to chronic pain, stiffness, and difficulty in movement, making outdoor activities seem daunting. Conditions affecting bones, muscles, and joints often require extra support to maintain mobility. Our all-terrain wheelchairs provide the stability and adaptability needed to overcome these challenges and enjoy nature’s beauty.

Genetic and Rare Disorders

Rare and genetic disorders often come with unique mobility challenges that limit independence and outdoor exploration. These conditions can cause weakness, joint instability, or other physical limitations. With our all-terrain wheelchairs, individuals can overcome these barriers and embrace the freedom of nature.

Chronic Illnesses

Chronic illnesses often cause fatigue, weakness, or difficulty breathing, which can make navigating the outdoors overwhelming. These long-term conditions require mobility aids that offer comfort and reliability. All-terrain wheelchairs are designed to provide the support needed to safely and confidently explore outdoor environments.

Pulmonary Hypertension

Developmental & Congenital Conditions

Developmental and congenital conditions often present mobility challenges from a young age, impacting daily activities and outdoor exploration. These conditions may cause limited motor function or require lifelong support. All-terrain wheelchairs empower individuals with these conditions to enjoy nature and participate in outdoor adventures with ease.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Extreme Motus, we offer three different sizes of all-terrain wheelchairs. The only difference between these sizes is the seat width:

  • Large – 18″ wide
  • Medium – 16″ wide
  • Small – 14″ wide

Sam, who stars in many of our videos, uses a medium-sized wheelchair. He is approximately 5′1″ tall and weighs 85 pounds. Comparing your size to Sam’s is a great starting point.

Consider the rider’s age as well. If they are Sam’s size but still growing (e.g., a 10-year-old), it’s best to size up to a large to ensure they don’t outgrow the chair. You can add padding like blankets, towels, pool noodles, or foam to make a larger size work for smaller riders, providing peace of mind for future growth.

If you purchase a chair without testing it, we offer a 30-day return policy. If the chair doesn’t work for you, you can return it, but you will need to cover shipping costs both ways.
